- 同事：你能帮我弄下这份报告吗？下班前要。
- 你：我手头现在积压了很多事。
- 同事：真的很急，大概只要半小时。
- 你：既然这样，我得重新调整下任务优先级。我能晚点再处理目前的任务吗？
- Colleague: Could you help me with this report? I need it by EOD (End of Day).
- You: Honestly, I have a lot on my plate right now.
- Colleague: It’s really urgent, it should only take 30 minutes.
- You: In that case, I’ll need to re-prioritize. Can I put my current task on the back burner for a bit?
- A lot on my plate: 指盘子里装满了菜，引申为“手头活儿太多”。比 “I’m busy” 更有画面感，也显得你是因为高产而忙碌。
- EOD (End of Day): 指下班前。通常是下午 5:00 或 6:00。
- Back burner: 源自厨房的后炉灶。放在后炉灶煮的东西不需要时刻盯着，指“暂时搁置、靠后处理”。
